Jose Avila is a seasoned corporate attorney with extensive experience advising clients on a broad range of corporate, finance, and M&A matters, with a particular focus on cross-border transactions. He has a strong track record representing lenders and sponsors in project finance deals for infrastructure and energy projects across Latin America. His expertise also extends to assisting both domestic and international clients in acquiring and divesting renewable and conventional energy assets.
Beyond large-scale transactions, Jose routinely advises start-ups on corporate formation, operational structuring, and key commercial agreements. His work includes drafting and negotiating service agreements, sales agreements, joint venture agreements, technology contracts, vendor agreements, and subcontracting arrangements to help businesses establish a solid legal foundation.
With deep knowledge of commercial transactions, Jose has also represented companies in complex dispute resolution proceedings. He has significant experience counseling clients in international investor-state and commercial arbitration cases (in both English and Spanish), working under the ICDR, ICSID, and ICC frameworks to resolve disputes related to cross-border energy, infrastructure, M&A, and commercial transactions.
A graduate of Harvard Law School, Jose brings over a decade of legal expertise to his practice. Prior to founding joining Impeccable, Jose started Jun Avila and also honed his skills at some of the nation’s top law firms in New York City, Chicago, and Miami, serving as in-house counsel for a leading multinational payments company.
